Queen of Glory is a 2021 American comedy-drama film that marks the directorial debut of Nana Mensah, who also wrote and starred in the film. Set in the Bronx, New York City, the story follows Sarah Obeng, a Ghanaian-American doctoral student at Columbia University. Sarah’s life takes an unexpected turn when her mother passes away, leaving her to inherit a Christian bookstore named King of Glory. As she navigates the challenges of managing the bookstore, dealing with her estranged father who returns from Ghana, and planning a traditional Ghanaian funeral, Sarah embarks on a journey of self-discovery and cultural reconnection.

The film features a cast that includes Meeko Gattuso as Pitt, the bookstore’s sole employee and a supportive presence in Sarah’s life; Oberon K.A. Adjepong as Godwin Obeng, Sarah’s father; Adam Leon as Lyle Cummings, Sarah’s colleague and romantic interest; Russell G. Jones as Hezekiah Falusi; and Anya Migdal as Tanya Malinova.

Queen of Glory premiered at the Tribeca Festival in June 2021, where Nana Mensah received the Best New Narrative Director prize and the Special Jury Prize for Artistic Expression. The film was later released in U.S. theaters in July 2022.
